TOWNHOUSE AT 1202 G. STREET NE
TOWNHOUSE RENOVATION
CAPITOL HILL ~ WASHINGTON, DC

This townhouse on historic Capitol Hill in Washington, DC was renovated to solve certain problems of age, material damage and to re-configure some rooms while preserving, as much as possible, the original structure and materials of the 1870's townhouse.  The renovation included adding an entirely new kitchen, master bathroom, and powder room.  New plumbing and electrical work was completed throughout the house and a vibrant decorative scheme was developed to complement the historic character of the house.

GROGAN JEWELERS
MAIN STREET, FLORENCE, ALABAMA

The facade design for Grogan Jewelers was begun after renovations to this Main Street storefront were already underway.  To assist the owner in carrying out a renovation to this store while being sensitive to the historic character of Main Street, a scheme was developed that added a cornice with brackets, new window surrounds to increase the size of the windows, new signage, and larger display windows that activate the street level with the reflectivity of the glass and an appealing color.  This project was joint project of Christine G. H. Franck and Michael M. Franck, Architect. For "before and after" images of Grogan Jewelers ~ click here.
