RESIDENCE FOR AN ARTIST

Designed for a young painter, this 2,650 square foot full floor apartment on Fifth Avenue was decorated in a restrained neoclassical style to provide the best backdrop for the artist’s paintings, such as the one shown at the lower right. The combined living and dining room were subdivided by the layout of the furniture to create separate living, sitting and dining areas in the apartment. The renovations also included refinishing all floors; painting the walls, trim and cabinetry; new window treatments; new furniture acquisition and arrangement.
